Christmas Plans Underway!
November 30, 2015
Again this year, our mission partners wish to bring smiles and the Good News of the Christmas season to many, including children in orphanages, staff workers, prisoners, the homeless and the forgotten. Their plans are ambitious and include...
Brother George (India): hosting a one-day retreat for older youth living in orphanages:
"I have been spending time in discipling and teaching orphan teens from different orphanages. Even last evening, a group of 10 teen girls were at our home and I taught them from Mathew 25. It was amazing to see their lives being gripped by the Word of God and the God of the Word. So we would want to bring all these orphan teens for a one day retreat and teach them more of the word and spend a day sharing more about the Lord and also help them have a good time of fun and give them one good meal along with some simple gifts. We are going to take them to a Christian Campsite. There will be about 65 teenagers."
Brother Elmerson (Philippines): feeding the homeless and sharing the Gospel; prison outreach; children's ministry:
- "We wish to travel in the three provinces [named] to distribute there the 200 kilos of rice and groceries for 100 homeless families together with sharing of the good news of salvation thru gospel tract distribution and gospel film showing and prayer mission. Thinking also, to visit and minister with 3 prison cells in [City name]. We also wish to do series of visit to children ministry here for gift giving to children, Christmas parties. Most of them are in the poorest of the poor villages in the southern Mindanao, Philippines."
Brother Henry (Good Shepherd Mission, Puttur, India):
"What type of giving??? 1. Staff Christmas gifts 2. Clothing for [orphanage] Boys, Girls and the elderly 3. Blankets and food for beggers and gypsies 4. Clothing for HIV children at Chittoor and Christmas dinner 5. Christmas at Kolladam [orphanage] 6. Christmas at Palamangalam [orphanage] and 7. Christmas for girls at Chittoor [orphanage]."
Those who will be served a meal or given a gift are not merely nameless faces, but many are individuals with whom our mission partners are building bridges for discipleship as they model how to be a loving, sold-out Christ follower.
Thank you for considering a Christmas offering to continue the planting of seeds of hope through Jesus Christ.
